Assn seeks UP Guv's intervention in resolving farmers' issues

A delegation of the Rashtriya Kisan Manch today met Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik here and sought his intervention in resolving the farmers' issues in the state, including loan waiver and payment of wheat and cane prices.
"The BJP government had promised a loan waiver but as of now, there is no concrete policy in this direction. From 2014 to 2016, there was large-scale corruption in the disbursement of compensation to the farmers who suffered losses due hailstorm and if the same continues, the situation of the farmers will be pitiable," a memorandum given to the Governor by RKM president Shekhar Dixit read.

It added that the state government should ensure the pending payment for wheat and cane to the farmers and disposal of their other problems.
