Atali village, which witnessed two communal clashes, the recent one of which left at least four persons injured, is limping back to normalcy with security forces today conducting flag marches through panic-stricken areas to restore confidence among the people.
Two companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF), comprising 240 personnel each, have been deployed in the village, which witnessed stone pelting between people belonging to two different communities on Wednesday.
Around 250 police personnel have been put on duty there during the daytime while 150 secure the village in the night, according to officials.
Senior administration officials, including Deputy Magistrate Sher Singh, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner of Police Subhash Yadav and SDM-Ballabgarh Priyanka Soni took stock of the situation in the evening.
The markets remained opened today. The situation is under control and presence of paramilitary forces along with police would further boost the villagers' confidence, Deputy Commissioner Agrawal said.
Questioned on reports of minority families deserting the village, the Deputy Commissioner said "it was nothing serious. People go out for work and return in the evening."
In another development, police today booked a man for spreading a "fake" video relating to the Wednesday's incident "with an intention to create tension".
"In order to prevent the entry of arms and ammunition into the village, the police are maintaining tight vigil and checking each and every item being brought from outside, SHO Preetpal said adding that only two-wheelers are being allowed for transportation purposes.
