Newbie actress Athiya Shetty has mostly donned the girl next door look in her public appearances as well as in her debut film "Hero", but designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna will be presenting her in a never seen before sensuous avatar.
Titled "Many Minds and Many Mazes", the Spring/Summer 16 collection is for the young and edgy women.
"Athiya is like a model. She is amazingly tall and I love the way she looks. She is young, vibrant, edgy and represents our line perfectly. We are sure a lot people will love her. We are giving her a sensuous look, something in which people have not seen her before," Rahul told PTI.
The designers have chosen comfort to be the USP of their clothing line, and have created the designs keeping in mind that people now a days do not follow the fashion trends blindly.
"Now a days people don't follow fashion literally. In the collection we have not followed any single trend. It is more about individual garment and the freedom of teaming up them with anything and everything.
"The silhouettes are modern and comfortable. They are not body hugging and are for a girl who is modern and edgy and has her own mind." he said.
Inspired by the busy city life and how people cross each other's path, Rohit and Rahul's designs will have their signature geometric lines playing an important role throughout.
"Signature Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna geometric lines can be seen through out our collection. There are no floral prints. Stripes and checks are playing a very important role. Our patterns are maize like and our embroideries are textured. The collection has tone on tone fee," the designer said.
Going by the thought of "comfortable yet sexy" the clothing line brings back the feel of nineties, but with suave colours dominating the palette.
Use of light and flowy stuff along with layering have been included to bring in the feminine touch.
"It is a very clean collection with modern suave sophisticated colours. There is use of very light organza, hues and mashes, fresh frosty minty colour, we have never used the same colours before.
"We are using a lot of raspberries, corals, fluorescent mint and sky blue. We have not used in your face bright colours." said Rahul, sharing his excitement about collaborating with Maybelline.
