Australian Consul General calls on Bedi

Australian Consul General in Chennai, Susan Grace today called on Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi at the Raj Nivas here.

The Consul General recalled "the importance of bilateral and multilateral relations with India," a release from the Lt Governor's office said.

Issues of women's empowerment through education, social awareness and promotion of skill development programmes were discussed during the meeting, it said.

Grace appreciated the initiatives taken by Bedi to provide "a safe, secure and clean environment for the people of Puducherry," the release said.
