Today, love can be found through the click of a mouse but it is difficult to break free from digital clutches of the Internet for star-crossed lovers, says author Preeti Shenoy who explores the concept through fiction.
In her new book "The One You Cannot Have," Preeti weaves a contemporary love story for the Google generation which tries to explore how love through the Internet is one "tangled web."
"Nowadays most of the relationships happen online. It is so easy to message a person and so easy to get in touch on the social networking sites. But that also makes it harder also," Preeti says.
Referring to the numerous photos, messages and videos on various places like Twitter, instagram, Facebook etc, she says it is difficult for those in relationships to sidestep the virtual footprint.
"You cannot escape once you break up because you are all the time seeing the person, or your ex's photo with someone as you have so many mutual friends on a particular website," says Bangalore-based author who was here recently to launch her book.
"So it's a tangled web. And I have explored that issue in the book. I would say my book is a contemporary love story for Google generation," the author says.
'The One You Cannot Have' is about "unrequited love" which promises to give a glimpse of advantages and disadvantages of online datings and relationships through a simple love story.
The author who is a prolific blogger says she was inspired by write the fiction on prompting by several of her fans who asked her how to cope with life after being dumped by their partner. The story is written from a man's perspective.
