Auto-lifter held

An auto-lifter, involved in
several cases of burglary and vehicle theft since 2008 and declared a proclaimed offender by a court in one such case, was arrested from Uttam Nagar area here, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested 24-year-old Pawan Tiwari, a native of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh and recovered a stolen motorcycle and two cars from his possession, they said.
Pawan had come to Delhi in 2008 in search of a job but got involved in criminal activities and was arrested the same year in a motorcycle theft case.
The accused is involved in 12 burglaries and auto-thefts and was declared a proclaimed offender in January.
