IT solutions firm Avaya today said it is organising partner connect events across India targeting the large mid-market space in areas such as voice, retail, healthcare, and hospitality.

The company has created a separate geographical listing under Global Growth Markets (GGM), which includes India, Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Russia, CIS and Greater China.

In India, the California-headquartered firm will host over 600 partners in Mumbai, Bangalore and Gurgaon to identify market opportunities and also identify business needs in networking, unified communications and customer experience management solutions.

"India is an important geography for us. PartnerConnect events provide a platform to develop insight into what customers need while accelerating the adoption of customer and communications care solutions right across a diverse and key region for Avaya," Avaya President GGM Nidal Abou-Ltaif told reporters here.

Before India, PartnerConnect was organised in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kenya and South Africa, which saw over 1,500 partners attending the programme, he added.

"India is a main base for our R&D with our two centres at Pune and Bangalore. Besides, we will start a centre for excellence in professional services and also expand operation maintenance capabilities," Abou-Ltaif said.

Avaya will also launch a special iConnect programme for midmarkets focused channel partners.

"During the PartnerConnect, Avaya executives will discuss with partners how they can capitalise on its solutions to grow their market share in hotels, banks, telecom operators, BPOs and government entities," he said.

The event provides a platform to develop insight into what customers need while accelerating the adoption of communications and customer care solutions, Abou-Ltaif added.
