NCP leader Jitendra Awhad today blamed Shiv Sena-led civic corporation for present water crisis in the city.
Awhad said he had suggested Shahi dam project in 2003 to cater to the growing need of water in view of rising population of the city.
"The project would fulfil the need for drinking water for city by 2030. But my request was ignored by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde. The cost of the dam project was around Rs 450 crore then and has shot up to Rs 1200 crore now if the project were implemented," he said at a press conference.
