Axe falls on absconding college principal in toppers scandal

Former JD(U) MLA Usha Sinha, wife of controversial Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, was today replaced as the Principal of a women college here by a senior Professor.
"The University has appointed senior most person Kanchan Chakhaiyar as Principal of the Ganga Devi College on adhoc basis," Vice Chancellor of Magadh University Mohammad Ishtiyaque told PTI.
Sinha had appointed a junior professor Dilip Kumar Verma as Principal of the college before proceeding on leave after her name cropped in the +2 examination muddle in which her husband was allegedly a prime player.
The University has cancelled the appointment of Verma and appointed Kanchan Chakhaiyar, the VC said.

Sinha, who did not contest the 2015 Assembly elections as her seat Hilsa in Nalanda district had gone to RJD quota, had joined the college. She was made the Principal of the constituent college located in Kankarbagh locality here.
Investigation in the merit muddle in Intermediate examination highlighted her role and the police made her a co-accused in the case.

Last week, she went underground.
The Special Investigation Team, which had arrested a clerk of the Ganga Devi College, today conducted a search again in the institution.
The +2 merit muddle was exposed by media by conducting interview of toppers of Arts and Science streams Ruby Rai and Saurabh Shreshta respectively, who gave unconvincing replies to very simple questions.
