Actor Ayushmann Khurrana will sport a rustic look and flaunt a muscular body in his upcoming film "Bareilly Ki Barfi".
"It will be rustic look for me in the film. I will have to gain muscles. I had lost weight for 'Meri Pyaari Bindu' as I had to get rid of the muscles," Ayushmann told PTI.
The romantic-comedy, based in UP, will see Ayushmann, 32, playing the role of a publisher.
"He (character in the film) is a strong guy. Sometimes you meet people who can be like that character. For 'Vicky Donor, there was a combination of my brother and my friend as I am not like what I played in 'Vicky Donor'. I am more subtle than what I was in "Vicky Donor", he said.
"For 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' I did not know anybody like that, so I was in Hyderabad for ten days and met a lot of people so, I could draw that character. For "Bareilly Ki Barfi", I have met people like my character."
Also starring Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao, "Bareilly Ki Barfi" is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
"It's a quirky romance dramedy. It's a rustic film. It is for the first time I will be shooting in Lucknow and Bareily, so, I am excited about it," Ayushmann said.
Considering the film is set in UP, the actors will have a bit of UP accent.
Reports reveal that Kriti will essay the role of a girl, who runs a sweet shop in UP, while Rajkummar will be seen playing the part of an author.
When asked if the film is a love triangle, Ayushmann wasn't keen to comment.
The VJ-turned-actor has mostly sung songs in the films that he has acted in, like "Vicky Donor" and "Nautanki Saala", but for this upcoming film nothing of the sort has been discussed yet.
The film will start rolling in the first week of October.
Besides "Bareilly Ki Barfi", he will also be seen in YRF's "Meri Pyaari Bindu" opposite Parineeti Chopra.
"We are left with last schedule of the film. We will be wrapping the film by October 10. We have a couple of songs to do," Ayushmann said.
