As many as 14,61,373 voters, including 7,77,599 males and 6,77,850 women, will decide the fate of 13 candidates, including Azad of Congress, Singh of BJP, Arshad Malik of PDP, Dharam Pal Balgotra of BSP and Bhim Singh of JKNPP at 108 polling stations.
The 65-year-old Congress leader, who is currently a Rajya Sabha member, has been a Lok Sabha MP before but from outside Jammu and Kashmir. He was first elected to Lok Sabha in 1980 from Washim in Maharashtra and again from the same constituency in 1984.
The Udhampur Parliamentary constituency, with headquarters at Kathua, comprises six districts - Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua.
