Aam Aadmi Party Amritsar candidate Daljit Singh today said Narendra Modi's rhetoric on Congress's "dynastic rule" is "ironic" as Punjab is being governed by the entire "Badal clan".
Addressing poll meetings here, Singh said, "In Punjab the entire family of Badals rule the roost with Prakash Singh Badal as CM, son Sukhbir Badal as deputy CM, daughter-in law Harsimrat Kaur as MP, 'brother-in-law' of deputy CM- Bikram Majithia as MLA, and also son-in Law Adesh Partap Singh Kairon in the government."
"Modi should ask the Akalis if they have a single area in Amritsar constituency to uphold as a model area, that replicates what he (Modi) has done in Gujarat. Infact Badals have taken over all lucrative businesses and have mis-used their powers extensively," he alleged.
Referring to former DGP of Punjab Shashi Kant, who had recently alleged that Akali government was patronising the drug trade, Singh said smuggling and drug addiction was highest in Punjab with many of their own ministers being named in the international drug racket.
