Badly-burned body of woman found in UP

A badly-burned body of an unidentified woman was found near a drain in Abdullahpur village here, police said today.
The locals yesterday found the body of the woman, aged about 25 years, following which they informed the police, district police spokesperson said.
It is suspected that the woman was killed elsewhere and the body was dumped here and burned at the spot after pouring petrol or kerosene over it to hide the victim's identity, the official said.
Post mortem of the body was conducted, police said, adding efforts were on to ascertain the identity of the victim and police stations of the area were being contacted to check reports of missing women, the spokesperson said.
