The Jharkhand High Court today granted bail to former minister Yogendra Sao after he remained in judicial custody for more than three months in a case of alleged raising of an ultra outfit that had cost his berth in the erstwhile JMM-led UPA cabinet.
The bench of Justice D N Upadhyay allowed the petition of Sao seeking bail in the case.
A Hazaribagh court had on October 8 last year sent Sao to judicial custody along with other accused Raj Kumar Gupta and Mukesh Kumar Sao.
In his statement before judicial magistrate under Section 164, Gupta accused Yogendra Sao of floating an ultra outfit "Jharkhand Tiger" that led to the Congress leader's resignation from the erstwhile Hemant Soren government on September 12 last year.
Yogendra Sao was arrested by the Jharkhand Crime Investigation Department in Delhi on October 5 and produced in a court in the national capital before being brought to the state on remand.
