The 58-year-old actor-producer also heaped praise on the film's leading ladies Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
"I have seen it and loved the film. It's Ranveer's best work till date. Priyanka is magical... And Deepika as always is beautiful. All three of them are incredible," Anil told reporters here at the red carpet of Stardust Awards.
Anil, whose 1994 hit film "1942: A Love Story" was co-written by Bhansali, was also impressed by filmmaker's work in "Bajirao Mastani".
The period romance, which clashed at box-office with superstar Shah Rukh Khan-led "Dilwale", has got positive reviews from fans and critics.
