The ban on Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik's entry in North Goa district has been extended by two months to prevent possible law and order problems.
The North Goa District Magistrate has issued an order to this effect banning Muthalik from April 7 onwards for another two months under Section 144 of CrPC of 1973 (it empowers a magistrate to prohibit an assembly of more than four people in an area).
The order, a copy of which was circulated to the media, reads that the step was taken to prevent possibility of disturbance to law and order and danger to public safety due to aggressive statements or speeches that could hurt the sentiments of certain groups of the public and instigate violence.
Muthalik's entry into the state has been banned now for the last five years. The government keeps extending it depending on the report from Goa police.
