Bangalore blast due to 'lack of efforts' to fight terror: BJP

BJP today termed as unfortunate the bomb blast outside its office in Bangalore and maintained that this "terror act" appeared to be the job of some sleeper cells active due to "lack of efforts" in fighting terror by the Centre.
BJP President Rajnath Singh refused to react to Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed's contention that the blast would help the right-wing party in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka.
"I don't believe this has been stage-managed by somebody. Acts of terror are taking place across the country. It is a ground reality that there are several sleeper modules which are playing their roles in different places. Government is not making any effort to destroy these sleeper cells," Singh told reporters here.

He said the incident is unfortunate.
Singh said he had talked to the Karnataka Chief Minister about the blast.
"If the blast near BJP office in Bangalore is a terror attack, it will certainly help BJP politically on the eve of election," Ahmed commented on Twitter.
16 people, including 11 policemen, were injured in the blast apparently targeting the Karnataka BJP city office buzzing with activity ahead of the May 5 Assembly polls.
The "incendiary bomb" planted in a motorbike parked between a van and a car went off around 10.30 AM, causing injuries to policemen on security duty as part of security arrangements for the polls.
