The arrest was made after sub-inspector Enamul Haq of Mirpur police station filed a case against Atanu Dutta, an Indian citizen, under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code (a law which allows police to arrest without a warrant), according to 'ESPNcricinfo'.
Dutta, on all three occasions, had been arrested for aiding betting, which is illegal in Bangladesh, through phone calls to bookies India and the UAE.
Dutta has been a regular visitor to Bangladesh for the last three years and has been seen in the stadium during matches since the 2011 World Cup.
He was also quizzed by Bangladesh Cricket Board's security chief during the second edition of the BPL, but was let off due to lack of evidence. The police said that they have proof of Dutta's connection with suspected bookies in India after they tapped his phone after his first release on March 21.
