Curfew was today relaxed for six and a half hours in south Rajasthan's Banswara district which had seen communal clashes last week, the police said.
Yesterday, the police had seized 47 petrol bombs and 18 sharp-edged weapons after searches were carried out in various places.
However, no clashes has been reported in the past couple of days, police officials said.
As the situation has normalised, a decision was taken to relax the curfew from 10.30 AM to 5 PM today, Banswara SP Kaluram Rawat told PTI.
He also said that 83 anti-social elements have been arrested from both the sides.
"No incidence of any clash was reported in the sensitive areas in the last couple of days. Curfew was clamped in the area on Friday. On Monday, 47 petrol bombs and 18 sharp-edged weapons were recovered during searches," Rawat said.
Clashes had broken out on Thursday during a religious procession being carried out by the minority community which then led to stone pelting that night.
On Friday, members of both the sides again pelted stones, torched houses and vehicles which prompted the district administration to clamp curfew in the Kotwali police station area, which covers almost the entire city area.
