Barley futures decline by Rs 16

Barley prices drifted lower by Rs 16 to Rs 1,499 per quintal in futures trade today as traders indulged in trimming of positions in line with weakness at the physical markets.
Marketmen said fall in its prices at physical markets due to subdued demand, triggered offloading of positions by participants, leading to fall in barley prices in futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange counter, barley for delivery in November contracts slipped by Rs 16 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 1,499 per quintal, with an open interest of 90 lots.
