At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, barley for delivery in most-active September month contracts slipped by Rs 14 or 0.87 per cent to Rs 1,590 per quintal, having an open interest of 9,000 lots.
Likewise, current contract August month delivery fell by Rs 13 or 0.83 per cent to Rs 1,560.50 per quintal, in an open interest of 6,440 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants, trcking a weak trend at the spot markets amid slackened demand from beer makers, weighed on barley futures here.
