Barley prices rebounded by Rs 10 to Rs 1,247.50 per quintal in the futures trading today after speculators covered-up their short positions amidst rising demand in physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley for delivery in May advanced by Rs 10, or 0.81%, to Rs 1,247.50 per quintal with an open interest of 980 lots.

Also, April contracts rose by Rs 5.50, or 0.45%, to Rs 1,237 per quintal in an open interest of 3,200 lots.

Marketmen said covering up of short positions by speculators at prevailing lower levels amid tight supplies in spot markets mainly influenced barley prices at futures trade here.
