Base metals fall on lower demand

Meanwhile, zinc and brass sheet cutting edged up on good offtake from consumer industries.

The Industrial metals were trading four month high at LME on positive factory output data from China, bolstering confidence in a global economic recovery.

Tin slumped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,460 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,470 and Nickel fell by Rs 5 to Rs 1,110 from Rs 1,115.

Copper utensils scrap, copper sheet cutting and aluminium utensils scrap eased by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 449, Rs 467 and Rs 112 as against Rs 452, Rs 470 and Rs 115 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armature and copper wire bar all moved down by Rs 494, Rs 485 Rs 473 and Rs 522 from Rs 496, Rs 487, Rs 475 and Rs 524, respectively.

Brass utensils scrap and aluminium ingots also softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 324 and Rs 142.

However, zinc gained Rs 2 per kg to Rs 148 from Rs 146 and brass sheet cutting inched up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 333 from Rs 332.
