Base metals gains on sustained industrial demand

Most of the base metals, including copper, brass, zinc, lead and nickel gained further at non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists buying amid sustained demand from industrial users.
While tin slipped on mild offtake from consuming industries.
Zinc shot-up by 15 per kg to Rs 195 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 180.
Nickel climbed by 8 per kg to Rs 683 from Rs 675.
Copper sheet cutting rose by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 364 as against Rs 360.
Copper cable scrap, Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar all advance by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 377, Rs 371, Rs 366, Rs 345 and Rs 405 from Rs 374, Rs 368, Rs 363, Rs 342 and Rs 402.
Brass utensil scrap and lead moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 279 and Rs 128 from Rs 277 and Rs 126.
Brass sheet cutting edged-up by a Re per kg to Rs 281.
However, tin moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 1,218 as against Rs 1,220.
