The company had posted a net profit of Rs 34.94 crore during the same period of last fiscal, 2014-15.
Net sales rose to Rs 617.22 crore for the third quarter, up 15 per cent, compared with Rs 536.72 crore in the same period a year ago, Bata India said in a regulatory filing.
"Our third quarter performance for the period Oct-Dec 2015 has seen a growth of 15 per cent when compared to the same period last year. We will be expanding our product offering.. We continue to strengthen our Ecommerce business to reach out to a larger consumer base," said Rajeev Gopalakrishnan, Group Managing Director, South Asia, Bata India.
Bata has over 1,254 shoe stores located in more than 500 cities across India with 1,108 Bata stores, 105 Hush Puppies and 41 Footin stores.
Bata India shares closed 1.98 per cent up at Rs 491.15 apiece on BSE.
