"Notice has been issued for March 19," a senior official of the Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) said, adding that future course of action will be taken after his appearance.
The complaint against Tomar by Ripu Daman Singh Bhardwaj, a central government standing counsel, has alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader had "obtained enrollment on the basis of forged and fabricated documents".
The complaint has also alleged that Tomar did not submit his provisional LLB degree nor his attendance certificate with his enrollment application and "no efforts were made by BCD office to procure" the same.
The complaint has been moved in the wake of Delhi High Court disallowing withdrawal of a petition alleging that Tomar had enrolled himself as an advocate on basis of a "false and bogus" graduation degree.
The petitioner, Santosh Kumar Sharma, wanted to withdraw his plea against Tomar saying an "alternate remedy is available with BCD".
On February 4, few days before Delhi Assembly Elections, the High Court had sought responses of BCI, ECI and Tomar, who was then AAP's candidate from Tri Nagar constituency for Delhi Assembly elections, on Sharma's plea alleging that he got himself enrolled as an advocate on the basis of a "false and bogus" graduation degree.
