BDC elections will be held as soon as possible: Sagar

"The government is committed to hold BDC elections in the state as soon as possible", Sagar said here.

The polls were deferred in November last year for providing quota to SCs, STs and women.

The minister was speaking at a meeting convened to discuss the recommendations of the coordination committee on holding of BDC polls.

He said the government will give due credence to the committee's suggestions, as it is committed to decentralisation of power at the grassroots level.
