A top district police official said Ganguly was now at ICU at Howrah General Hospital while another female companion of him was under treatment at the same hospital.
Ganguly and the woman, whose identity was not known, were coming to Kolkata when their MUV collided head-on with a Howrah-Midnapore passenger bus.
The family and friends of Ganguly, rushed to the hospital on receiving the news but he was not in a position to be shifted anywhere immediately.
