Star Indian footballer and Bengaluru FC striker Sunil Chettri today said they have a strong enough team to win the I-League but did not wish to sound "bossy".
"It is going to tough, for there are nine teams which are capable of putting up a good show. However, we are also well prepared. We have been strengthening our arsenal and are a strong team. We would do everything to win as many matches as possible," Chettri said here.
The team does not want to sound bossy about its preparations though, Chettri added.
"Everyone one wants to play against Bengaluru FC because we have been the champions for the last two years, but we don't want to sound bossy," he said.
Asked which team would be the strongest, Chettri said, "Just having good foreign coaches and players will not suffice to bag the title. Instead, a team will go the long distance if the team wins consistently."
Head coach Ashley Westwood said there could be lots of twists and turns this season due to the presence of a couple of unknown teams in Aizwal FC and DSK Shivajians.
"There are unknown teams. Mumbai is a good side. Mohun Bagan and East Bengal are good sides too. Salgaocar, having gone for a foreign coach, will bring in fresh ideas into the team. Aizwal and Shillong are tough parts to play on. So, there is loads of twists and turns and could be a tough season," he said.
Bengaluru FC will take on Salgaocar FC at the Tilak Maidan in Margao on Saturday.
