Coating major Berger Paints India has induced consumer centric measures and services including 'Express Painting' to duck slowdown in growth in the paints industry.
"The paints industry growth is 7 per cent. Our growth is 8.2 per cent in the current fiscal so far. This is down from 18 per cent CAGR in sales in the last five years," Berger MD & CEO Abhijit Roy said today.
He said for the full financial year (FY2015-16), the growth for the company could be around 10 per cent.
In order to create greater brand loyalty, the company has undertaken the consumer service, he said.
Berger Express Painting uses technology and tools to do the painting for a faster, cleaner and better job.
Despite this, there would be no additional cost burden to consumers, Roy claimed but added the company will not have any direct control on cost of painting.
Roy said the company has 18 training centres to have a pool of about 10,000 painters by March 2016.
The service, which is already available in West Bengal and Kerala since March 2015, has shown an expansion of 18 per cent in monthly sales compared to national average growth of just 8.2 per cent.
Berger will roll out the service across India by November.
The coating company has rolled out products idea for the paints applicators branded as XP Advanced series and will appoint 3,000 dealers from its network of 15,000 spread pan India.
