Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik has sent his report to President Pranab Mukherjee in connection with the violence in Banaras Hindu University campus over the demand for students union elections.
The governor yesterday sent the report to Mukherjee in connection with the two-day violence in BHU campus, a Raj Bhawan spokesperson said.
At least three dozen students were arrested by Uttar Pradesh police, and five hostels of the BHU had to be vacated after violence broke out in the sprawling campus on Thursday over the demand to hold students' union elections.
