Percussionist Bickram Ghosh is happy to get the opportunity to work as music director in upcoming film "Band of Maharajas" where he gets to work again with director Girish Malik.
"I love to collaborate with my favourite directors. After working in Jal, I am again collaborating with Girish in his film," Bickram told PTI here.
"In Band of Maharajs I will be solely handling the music part," Bickram, who had recently cut an album with Sonu Nigam, said.
In "Jal", Bickram and Sonu Nigam had together directed the music.
Bickram, who had also directed Little Zizou {With Giuliano Modarelli}, Gumshuda, Sooper Se Ooper, Chowky {Promotional song} and Happy Anniversary, said he was collaborating with Sonu for a 10-song basic album on Bollywood Oldies where the retro music has been recreated to give it a lounge feel.
"Sonu's association with me is long-standing. I think in a sense we understand and compliment each other as musicians of different disciplines but having the same contemporary mind-set," he said.
Bickram also referred to an international project with 50 musicians, including the globally known Pete Locket at the initiative of Ravishankar Foundation which had got good reviews.
The celebrated tabla player is also doing the music of Suman Ghosh's Bengali film MiAmor and Arindam Sil's Eagler Chokh, the sequel of 2015 hit Ebar Shabor.
"I had worked with both of them in their previous films. And the tuning matters," he said.
