As per the information available with the stock exchanges, Bachchan - often called Big B - has acquired 1.1 lakh shares of Stampede Capital through open market route yesterday.
The shares were purchased on an average price of Rs 109.92, valuing the transaction to Rs 1.21 crore.
Shares of Stampede Capital have shot up more than 30 per cent within a month.
They were trading at Rs 114.90 apiece in the afternoon trade on the BSE today, up 4.45 per cent from the previous close. During the intra-day trade, the stock had touched its 52-week high of Rs 119.95.
According to a disclosure by the company in its IPO prospectus, Bachchan was allotted 62,794 shares at a price of Rs 10 each in 2011, valuing his original investment at just Rs 6.27 lakh. His holdings are now valued at around Rs 9 crore.
