The makers of 'Welcome Back' have approached megastar Amitabh Bachchan to take ahead the role essayed by late Bollywood actor Feroz Khan, in the 2007 hit comedy.
The veteran had played a powerful underworld don named RDX in the entertainer starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
"We have not locked Mr Bachchan for Feroz bhai's role. It was a small role but his (Feroz) presence made the role larger. But this role is big and different in the sequel," director Anees Bazmee told reporters here at the mahurat event.
"We are in talks with Amitji... We are waiting for his approval," producer Firoz Nadiadwala said.
The sequel would feature Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and the new additions will be John Abraham and Shruti Hassan.
"Every actor plays an important character in this film. All the characters are important in the film, if one is not there then the film will be incomplete. All the characters are well defined," Bazmee said.
Both Anil and Nana seemed excited to be part of the sequel.
"I am happy to be back working with the team again. I hope people like this film as well," Patekar said.
Kapoor says he is happy to be part of a Anees Bazmee film as his films cater to family audience. "It is great to be working with Nana... He is always inspirational. John is a talented actor and so is Paresh."
"Kamal Hasan is a magnificent actor...He inspires actors. Happy to be working with his daughter Shruti," he added.
The shooting of the film will begin from next month.
