Bihar Assembly monsoon session from July 28

The monsoon session of the bicameral state legislature in Bihar will commence from July 28.
The decision in this regard was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (cabinet secretariat) Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters here.
The brief monsoon session will have five sittings between July 28 and August 3, he said adding, the cabinet has approved eleven proposals.
Among significant decisions, the state government sanctioned the energy department's proposal for grant of Rs 1,476 crore to compensate for financial loss arising out of access aggregate technical and commercial loss than anticipated earlier to two distribution companies of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL) to meet the expenditure in 2017-18 at the rate of Rs 123 crore per month, Mehrotra said.

BSPHCL will use this fund to pay NTPC for purchase of electricity as also to boost capital equity of Bihar power company, he said.
The state government approved Rs 43 crore for payment of pension to employees of the Rajendra Agriculture University, Pusa in 2017-18 as under an MoU between the Centre and the state government, Mehrotra said.
A sum of Rs 54 crore has been sanctioned for payment of salaries to teaching and non-teaching staff of the unaided minority secondary school for 2017-18, while the state government sanctioned Rs 115 crore out of the overall annual grant of Rs 150 crore towards salaries of teachers of 531 Sanskrit schools in Bihar, he added.
