Bihar Governor gives assent to 9 bills

Bihar Governor D Y Patil today granted his assent to nine bills passed recently by the two houses of the state legislature, a Raj Bhawan official said.
Patil has given his approval to nine bills passed by the state legislature, including the Bihar State Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2013, Patna University (Amendment) Bill, 2013 and the Nalanda Open University (Amendment) Bill, 2013, the Governor's ADC Shivdeep Lande said.
The Bodh Gaya Temple (Amendment) Bill, 2013, the Bihar Land Disputes Resolution (Amendment) Bills, 2013 and financial bills too have got the Governor's nod, he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a courtesy call to the Governor at the Raj Bhawan and the meeting between the two dignitaries lasted about one and a quarter hour, Lande said.
