As part of punitive action, 1.98 lakh beneficiaries have been issued white notice (preliminary warning) and 46,506 red notice (last warning), Rural Development Minister Nitish Mishra said in reply to a starred question of Nawal Kishore Yadav (RJD) in the Legislative Council.
Certificate case has been registered against 8,284 beneficiaries for refund of money, Mishra said, adding, FIR has been lodged against 32 for not refunding the money.
He said under Indira Awas Yojna, a total of 6.82 lakh houses were constructed under the scheme in 2012-13.
Acting on complaints, the state government in a bid to check misuse of funds under the scheme started providing money through banks and conducted videography, the minister added.
