"All development work has stopped in Bihar. Law and Order have failed. I and all EBC people are now with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and we will take the state to greater heights," said Rai, after joining the BJP.
He said he is now free from the clutches of JD(U) which was functioning as if it was a gang, said the former Member of Legislative Council.
Welcoming Rai to the party, state BJP president Mangal Pandey said his presence would provide new energy and strength to the party and help Bihar get rid of persons who are operating gangs in the name of politics.
Claiming that over 50 JD(U) MLAs were willing to join BJP leaving Kumar more worried than ever, he said Kumar was trying to remove Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi by backstage machinations.
