A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Principal Secretary Cabinet Coordination Committee Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters that the recruitment would be made to make available subject-wise teachers at middle and higher school levels.
Teachers up to 65 years of age would be eligible for appointment on contract, he said.
Mehrotra said the state cabinet approved Rs 97.77 crore for constructing buildings of 72,000 middle schools and completion of structure of 122 high schools.
The cabinet also gave consent to Bihar Clinical Establishment Registration and Regulation Rules, 2013.
For this a state level clinical registration committee would be set up.
