Bihar government had engaged RITES Ltd for preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Patna Metro. RITES had submitted the final report in August last year.
The state cabinet has already accorded an in-principle approval of the DPR of the project, according to which it will have two corridors for implementation in its first phase.
Patna has a population of 20.32 lakh according to 2011 census, which is projected to be 36.39 lakh in 2031 as per Patna Master Plan 2031.
