Four youths were intercepted yesterday by police and during their search a country-made pistol and live cartridges were seized, SSP Shalabh Mathur said.
They confessed to stealing motorcycles when interrogated, he said, adding, three of their associates were nabbed from Nawabganj square with stolen bikes.
The gang members were using same fake registration number on four bikes, he said.
The arrested persons were identified as Tinku, Anand, Ranjit, Rambir, Dipu, Anurag and Jaiprakash, who is son of the former Block Head of Rajpur, Mathur said, adding, a case has been registered against them.
