Binita Thakur appointed PS to Smriti Irani

IPS officer Binita Thakur has been appointed as Private Secretary to Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani.
Thakur, a 1996 batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed at the level of Director for a period up to December 17, 2016, i.E. Maximum period of seven year stay outside the cadre in a single stint, or on co-terminus basis with the tenure of the Minister, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Thakur has been working as Deputy Inspector General in CBI. She had joined CBI in 2009.
