Pratyusha was the first candidate from any political party to file the papers before Returning Officer N T Nayak for the by-elections.
The BJD nominee was taken in a procession by party workers, accompanied by state ministers like Arun Sahu, Bikram Arukh, Pradep Maharathi and Pradeep Amat and other BJD leaders, from Agriculture square to the Collectorate with placards having photos of her late husband Hemendra Singh whose untimely demise on September 5 necessitated the by-election to the Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat.
BJP candidate Rudra Madhav Ray and Congress nominee Abhimanyu Behera would be filing their papers tomorrow, the last date for filing nominations.
