BJP's state chief Rahul Sinha today slammed Kolkata police for allegedly giving preferential treatment to West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra while taking him to the court from jail.
"Why is preferential treatment being meted out to Madan Mitra by officials of Kolkata police when he is being taken to court. Why instead of prison van he is taken in a police car," Sinha said.
"If Kolkata police doesn't change its preferential treatment then we will file a PIL in the court against it," he said.
Mitra's bail petition was today rejected by a city court and his judicial custody was extended till January 16.
