BJP councilor elected chairman of SDMC standing committee

BJP councilor Shailender Singh was today elected unopposed as the chairman of the SDMC's decision making standing committee.
Another party councilor Dharmvir Awana was elected as the deputy chairman of the committee.
Singh who represents Safdarjung ward in South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) work said he will work sincerely to implement the 'Swatch Bharat Mission' launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He termed cleanliness as his first priority while adding that "efforts towards this end should not be confined on papers only and must be visible on ground also."
Singh also sought cooperation of the Opposition councilors promising that "there will be no discrimination on political lines on the development issue.
