BJP demands sacking of Karnataka Ports Minister Chinchansur

BJP today demanded that the Karnataka government drop Textiles and Ports Minister Baburao Chinchansur from the ministry for allegedly demanding Rs 2 crore as bribe from a contractor who was awarded work for developing backwaters in Kundapur.
"I urge the government to drop Minister Chinchansur for allegedly demanding Rs 2 crore bribe from a contractor who was awarded work for developing backwaters in Kundapur, a coastal town in Karnataka," State BJP Opposition Leader Jagadish Shettar told reporters here.
Shettar played a tape before the media purportedly containing the voice of Chinchansur seeking bribe.
He also demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
