BJP today termed a riot case against party MLA Rajkumar Thukral as "politically motivated" and said it will intensify the ongoing protests over the issue if the case is not withdrawn.
Alleging that Thukral's name has been dragged into the riot case of 2011 as part of a conspiracy, state BJP chief Tirath Singh Rawat said the party will intensify its stir over the issue if Thukral's name is not cleared.
57 party workers, including former party MP Balraj Passi, have so far courted arrest over the issue, he said, adding more protests will be organised if the case against Thukral is not withdrawn.
