BJP leader accuses TMC of unleashing violence in Bengal

BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya today accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of unleashing violence on his partymen in West Bengal and warned that if the saffron party retaliated, the TMC 'goons' would not survive.
"We are against violence. There is no place for violence in a democracy. The BJP has 12 crore workers and if they retaliate, will the TMC goons survive," he asked while addressing a public meeting at Canning in the South 24 Parganas district today.
Vijayvargiya was all praise for expelled TMC leader Mukul Roy's organisational capabilities. He claimed that Mamata Banerjee had become the chief minister of West Bengal because of Roy's organisational skills.

He also slammed the West Bengal government, saying it had failed to control dengue.
The chief minister had, on October 30, said 13 dengue deaths were reported from the state-run hospitals, while the private hospitals reported 27 deaths due to the disease, but these were yet to be confirmed by tests.
Refuting Vijayvargiya's charge, TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee pointed out that BJP leaders claimed their organisation was growing in West Bengal.
"How is that possible if there is no democracy in the state," he wondered.
Chatterjee claimed that the TMC regime in the state had not done anything undemocratic and took a swipe at Vijayvargiya by alleging that he was "doing politics over dengue" even as the state government was doing its best to control the disease.
