A local BJP leader Parmod Bharti has been booked for posting objectionable post on social networking site Facebook against UP Cabinet Minister Azam Khan and threatning him, police said today.
In a Facebook post, Bharti had held Khan responsible for 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots and had opposed his visit to the district tomorrow.
"A case has been registered against city board member Parmod Kumar under section 505 of IPC and section 66 of the IT Act," said SSP Bablu Kumar .
Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the district in view of Khan's arrival who will attend an official meeting at Vikas Bhawan.
