In his petition, National Executive member Alphons Kannanthanam, a forme IAS officer and former MLA, sought an investigation and action for initiating civil and criminal proceedings against Vishwas for his remark.
"Utterances of Vishwas has caused great damage to the dignity of the entire class of people who are doing selfless service to humanity," the petition said.
"A highly dignified profession of nursing has been belittled in the eyes of the world. His statements are defamatory, derogatory, blasphemous, scandalous and scurrilous," it said.
In a statement sent to the AAP's Kerala unit today, Vishwas tendered an apology, saying it was never his intention to hurt the feelings of anyone.
